Book 7 in the News…

With the new Book 7 title being released today it’s no surprise that the news is everywhere. Hogwarts Herald has scoured the news stories and below are some of the better links to media articles about Harry Potter and the _______ _______.
I’m still not in the mood to spoil the fun, so if you’re just finding out about the just-announced title, go to the post below for the directions to solving JK Rowling’s “puzzle”…and thus finding out the name of Book 7 the fun way.
And if you can’t wait to read more on the new book & title, here’s the best of what’s come out today (there may be spoiler info on the new title beyond the fold):
————————-
CBBC article…The BBC, but for a younger audience. Even though it’s meant for kids & teens, it honestly beats out most of the other stories so far…probably because it isn’t just a reposting of the AP story. Also, be sure to check out the links along the left side…there’s tons of other HP stuff to read.
Also, here’s the BBC Article on the new title revelation.
Another good article from the Chicago Sun Times. They actually go into a bit of detail about how to solve the puzzle at jkrowling.com. That can also be found here.
Scholastic.com has an owl delivering the news…and they have this to say:
“(December 21, 2006) J.K. Rowling announced today on her website the title of her as yet undelivered 7th book, which is ‘Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.’ The publication date has not been set.”
Bloomsbury in the UK has a message similar to Scholastic’s. They even have an image of a book cover, but with such a plain design it’s most likely not the final cover.
Going to the southern hemisphere:
The article in the Sydney Morning Herald is a really great article…and they even dip into the JK Rowling archive for a couple of past quotes, including:
“A price has to be paid, we are dealing with pure evil here. They don’t target extras, do they? They go for the main characters - well, I do.”
Here’s the article on Stuff.co.nz, online news in New Zealand.
And finally, here’s an article on News24.com in South Africa which wins the award for “Shortest News Story on the New Harry Potter Title Revelation.” It comes in at a whopping three sentences long.
