Alfonso Cuarón: Nominated for Two Oscars
Tuesday, January 23rd, 2007
Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban director Alfonso Cuarón received two Oscar nominations for his work on Children of Men. He was nominated for “Achievement in Film Editing” and “Adapted Screenplay.”
It’s a little surprising that Children of Men didn’t get a Best Picture nod as it was so highly acclaimed across the board…whereas the movie Babel, which did receive a Best Picture nomination, received some rather mixed reviews. That’s just the nature of the Oscars, I guess.
I’m just happy that my favorite movie of the year, Little Miss Sunshine, got a lot of Oscar-love.
